Principal's Message

Hello Students, Parents, and Community,

It’s hard to believe the school year is coming to a close—only four days remain! As I reflect on the past three years, I find myself cherishing the memories and experiences even more deeply. Some of you may have already heard, but it was officially announced at Wednesday’s LBUSD Board of Education meeting that I will be transitioning to a new school site next year. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, I will be leaving Dooley at the end of this school year to begin a new chapter. These past three years as your principal have meant so much to me, and I will always carry the memories of our time together at Dooley with great pride and gratitude.  The incoming principal will be Mrs. Dalton, and we will work together to ensure a smooth transition.

We will be ending the year with a Spirit Week, please click the following link for more information.  Please make sure to continue to exhibit the Dooley Elementary Student Guidelines for Success (Determined, Responsible, Accomplished, Grateful, Open-Minded, Nice, Scholars) as we wrap up the year.  The last day of school is this Thursday, June 12.  All students will be dismissed from school at 2:00PM.  

At Dooley, student and traffic safety is a top priority. Safe driving around our school improves the safety of all children, including yours.  We all must do our part to ensure the safety of all students.  Please keep in mind the following safety rules:

• When dropping off your child, pull to the curb safely, have your child exit carefully and depart immediately.  Please refrain from double parking.
• Please yield to pedestrians crossing in a crosswalk.
• Pedestrians must use marked crosswalks to cross the street. 
• Do not block crosswalks, driveways, red zones, or fire hydrants.

Furthermore, we have accumulated many clothing items, lunch boxes and water bottles that students have left behind.  Please check for your child’s lost items before or after school.  The lost and found is located near the front office inside the front gate.  All remaining items will be donated on June 11.

Here are important dates that I would like to share with you:

• June 9-12 - Spirit Week
• June 10 - Kindergarten Culmination 10:30AM
• June 11 - 5th Grade Promotion 9:15AM
• June 12 - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL (Minimum Day - 2:00 PM Dismissal)
• June - LBGT+ Pride Month
• June - National Caribbean-American Heritage Month

Hola estudiantes, padres y comunidad:

Es difícil creer que el año escolar esté llegando a su fin: ¡solo quedan cuatro días! Al reflexionar sobre los últimos tres años, atesoro aún más profundamente los recuerdos y las experiencias. Algunos de ustedes quizá ya sepan, pero en la reunión del Consejo de Educación del LBUSD del miércoles se anunció oficialmente que me mudaré a una nueva escuela el próximo año. Aunque es agridulce despedirme, dejaré Dooley al final de este año escolar para comenzar una nueva etapa. Estos tres años como director han significado mucho para mí, y siempre guardaré con orgullo y gratitud los recuerdos de nuestro tiempo juntos en Dooley. La nueva directora será la Sra. Dalton, y trabajaremos juntos para asegurar una transición sin contratiempos.

Además, hemos acumulado muchos artículos de ropa, loncheras y botellas de agua que los estudiantes han dejado atrás.Por favor, revise los objetos perdidos de su hijo/a antes o después de clases. La sección de objetos perdidos se encuentra cerca de la oficina principal, dentro de la entrada. Los artículos restantes se donarán el 11 de junio.

• សូមផ្តល់អំណោយដល់អ្នកថ្មើរជើងឆ្លងកាត់ផ្លូវឆ្លងកាត់។
• អ្នកថ្មើរជើងត្រូវប្រើផ្លូវឆ្លងកាត់ដែលមានសញ្ញាសម្គាល់ដើម្បីឆ្លងកាត់ផ្លូវ។
